Gen Z doesn’t love mustard. 33% said they hated it. French's needed a way to break through that resistance and get a new generation to reconsider the brand.
We stopped trying to make mustard feel familiar and took its tang somewhere completely unexpected: the candy aisle. For National Mustard Day, French's partnered with a brand young people loved to create Mustard Skittles. Bella, a VW mustard mobile, carried the idea up the East Coast with stops in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and New York City. It was a culture-first provocation designed to earn attention, spark trial, and put French's back in the conversation.
